This useful orientation will cover some of the basic questions that you must answer to assess your readiness to start a nonprofit. Readiness will be measured based on a number of factors including your experience, available finances, intended mission and vision, and access to human and volunteer resources to support you in the process. We will examine the importance of financial accountability, board development, fund raising, and developing by-laws. We will use a checklist as a guide to review “things to be done” when starting a nonprofit organization. This course is strongly suggested as a prerequisite to “Starting a Nonprofit and Beyond: Legal Issues and Documents
