Mission: The Fund improves the management effectiveness & efficiency of nonprofit organizations & increases management resources in the greater Milwaukee area.
The Fund is a collaborative of foundations, corporations, and United Ways operating as a donor-advised fund at the Greater Milwaukee Foundation. Projects include grants, sector-wide initiatives and special projects.
Providing services in:
Governance (Through the Board Initiative, the Fund awards grants for Board development as well as corporate re-structuring. Numerous training opportunities are offered in addition to publications and on-line resources.)
Finance (The Fund awards grants to improve financial management, including software to upgrade accounting and reporting, as well as consultation on improving financial oversight.)
Fundraising (The Fund's grants help increase and diversify a nonprofit organization's revenue and support. An ongoing interest in earned income sources and the role of the Board leadership is included.)
Human Resources (The Fund awards grants to enhance human resource management for staff and volunteers and for executive search.)
Information Technology (Grants are available for hardware, software and consultation relted to technology. The Fund incubated ENTECH now resident at UW-Milwaukee.)
Leadership Development (Activities to support and enhance leadership will be part of the joint effort with the Funders Collaborative for strong Latino Communities (see Program 5))
Marketing (The Fund makes grants to support marketing plans, public relations activities, and corporate image enhancement.)
Planning (The Fund's grants are available for annual planning, strategic planning, business planning, feasibility studies, etc.)
